1. Registration
Players must complete their registration by submitting the form available on the SPL homepage.
2. Official SPL Gear
All participants are invited to wear the official SPL gear, which includes a customized T-shirt or polo with the player’s name and nationality, along with matching shorts and socks. We look forward to seeing every player proudly representing the SPL style on court!
3. League Format
-
The league consists of a regular phase (with rounds twice per month) and a Masters Phase at the end of the season.
Each round may include up to 20 players (10 teams) or a minimum of 4 players (2 teams), depending on registrations. -
In every round, based on the overall SPL ranking, each player will be assigned an initial partner and court.
Pairings change after the first match to ensure balanced play and variety.
The first round of the season will be drawn at random. -
When a team wins, it moves up one court (or stays if already on Court 1).
When a team loses, it moves down one court (or stays if already on the last court).
After every match, partners are always rotated, regardless of the result, to promote competitiveness and harmony.
4. Call-Up Procedure
-
Each player must confirm participation up to 5 days before the match date via the official WhatsApp group.
-
Once confirmations are collected, the team pairings and court assignments will be announced no later than 2 days before the round.
5. New Updates for the Season 🎾
👉 New Team Formation Procedure
This season introduces a new pairing system.
We will draw the players into fixed positions, for example P1, P2, P3,.....and so on. Once the positions are drawn, the full match schedule is automatically defined and fixed teams for the round acoording with the following plans :
6. Times and Venues
The league is played twice per month, usually on weekends.
Specific times and venues may vary depending on player availability and court logistics.
Matches are typically scheduled between 7:30 to 13:30 on Saturdays or Sundays.
7. Scoring System
👉 New Ranking Method
This season, the SPL ranking rewards individual consistency rather than just match victories.
Each player’s score is determined by the total number of games won across all SPL rounds, so every game counts, and you’re effectively “competing against yourself”. Additionally, extra points for the finishing court have been removed, meaning all players now have the same scoring potential, regardless of where they end the round.
The League Champion is the player with the most points at the end of the season.
8. Match Rules
-
Each match is played to the best of 7 or 5 games, depending on time and organization.
-
The first team to reach 3 or 4 games wins the match.
Players may continue playing until the 15 or 20 minute time slot is complete, but only the first 4 games count toward SPL standings. -
The Golden Point Rule applies in every game.
-
If time expires at 1–2 or 2-3 the match continues until completion.
If it ends 2–2 or 3-3, a Golden Point decides the winner.
9. Promotion and Relegation
👉 At the end of each SPL season, promotions and relegations will apply as follows:
-
Master Division: the bottom 3 players are relegated to Division 1.
-
Division 1: the top 3 players are promoted to the Master Division, while the bottom 3 are relegated to Division 2.
-
Division 2: the top 4 players move up to Division 1, and the bottom 4 move down to Division 3.
-
Division 3: the top 5 players are promoted to Division 2.
This structure ensures a dynamic and merit-based league, maintaining balance and competitiveness across all divisions.
10. Ranking & Tiebreakers
Overall standings are based on each athlete’s accumulated points during the regular season.
In the event of a tie, the following criteria apply (in order):
-
Head-to-head results between tied players
-
Total games won across the season
-
Fewest games conceded
